Guided Tour through the fortress
Often, the 950-year history of Hohensalzburg Fortress is reduced to the Medieval period, overlooking the fact that it was always used militarily until its tourist utilization in the 20th century. This special tour focuses primarily on the period after the Napoleonic Wars, when Salzburg became part of Austria through roundabout ways, and the fortress was used as a barracks and base for the Rainer Regiment.
