For many years, the annually changing special exhibitions at the Monatsschlössl folklore museum in Hellbrunn have entered into dialogue with the existing folklore collection, each time highlighting new aspects from an artistic, historical and socially relevant perspective.

The anniversary "100 years of the Folk Culture Museum at the Monatsschlössl" in 2024 provided an opportunity to take a contemporary look at objects that were part of the first exhibition at the Monatsschlössl in 1924.
What aspects were they collected for at that time?
How do we view this folklore collection today?
What do we identify with? What has become foreign?

The objects displayed in the exhibition have been presented as central pieces of the collection for 100 years.
