The use of Austrian motorways and expressways is subject to toll for all motor vehicles. The digital vignette is available for one day, ten days, two months, or as an annual vignette and can be conveniently ordered online.

All important information about the vignette

The vignette is mandatory for vehicles (cars, camper vans, motorcycles) up to and including 3.5 tons tzGm (technically permitted total mass). Trucks, buses, and camper vans with more than 3.5 t tzGm are subject to the distance-dependent toll and require a GO-box.

The digital vignette can be purchased via the ASFINAG app, in the ASFINAG toll shop, as well as at authorized sales outlets such as gas stations, tobacco shops, and automobile clubs. Important: The digital vignette must be purchased before entering a motorway or expressway and is linked to the vehicle's license plate, so entering the correct license plate is crucial for its validity.

Toll exemption for travelers on the Munich-Salzburg route (motorway A8)

From the border crossing Walserberg to the exit Salzburg-Nord on the A1 (West Motorway), no motorway vignette is required. For the further use of the motorway, you need a motorway vignette.
