Festival Halls - Guided Tours [Festspielhäuser Führungen]

News

Due to construction work, from September 2026 onwards, tours will only be possible in the Großes Festspielhaus (Haus für Mozart and Felsenreitschule only very limited and partly not possible) until further notice.

Therefore, the meeting point and start of the tours will be in the foyer of the Großes Festspielhaus (first door towards Pferdeschwemme open) until further notice.

Please note that tickets for the tours can only be purchased online.

The daily guided tours of the Large Festival Hall [Großes Festspielhaus], the House for Mozart [Haus für Mozart] and the the Summer Riding School [Felsenreitschule] provide an insight into the exciting world of art, theatre and the Salzburg Festival.

Anyone who has ever wanted to take a look behind the scenes of the world-famous festivals has the opportunity to do so during the daily tours. In addition to the festival houses (Großes Festspielhaus, Haus für Mozart, and Felsenreitschule), the foyers and audience rooms can also be visited. Please note that due to setup work and performances, not all rooms may be accessible at all times.

Good to know:
  • Meeting point: Festival shop (column with mask, gate)
  • Maximum 20 people
  • Ticket sales: Tickets for tours can be booked online; remaining tickets are available at the festival shop 15 minutes before the tour starts
  • Duration of the tour: approx. 50 minutes, in German and English
  • The Salzburg Card allows one-time free admission to the public tour (private group tours are not included)
  • The dates for German-speaking and English-speaking tours can be found on the official website. Here, tickets can also be purchased.
