Festival Halls - Guided Tours [Festspielhäuser Führungen]
News
Due to construction work, from September 2026 onwards, tours will only be possible in the Großes Festspielhaus (Haus für Mozart and Felsenreitschule only very limited and partly not possible) until further notice.
Therefore, the meeting point and start of the tours will be in the foyer of the Großes Festspielhaus (first door towards Pferdeschwemme open) until further notice.
Please note that tickets for the tours can only be purchased online.
The daily guided tours of the Large Festival Hall [Großes Festspielhaus], the House for Mozart [Haus für Mozart] and the the Summer Riding School [Felsenreitschule] provide an insight into the exciting world of art, theatre and the Salzburg Festival.
Anyone who has ever wanted to take a look behind the scenes of the world-famous festivals has the opportunity to do so during the daily tours. In addition to the festival houses (Großes Festspielhaus, Haus für Mozart, and Felsenreitschule), the foyers and audience rooms can also be visited. Please note that due to setup work and performances, not all rooms may be accessible at all times.
- Meeting point: Festival shop (column with mask, gate)
- Maximum 20 people
- Ticket sales: Tickets for tours can be booked online; remaining tickets are available at the festival shop 15 minutes before the tour starts
- Duration of the tour: approx. 50 minutes, in German and English
- The Salzburg Card allows one-time free admission to the public tour (private group tours are not included)

Tours in German: daily at 2 PM
Tours in English: Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday at 9 AM

Closed: 1 January, 6 January, 8 December, 24-26 December, 31 December
Dogs not allowed (except for assistance dogs)

People with disabilities are requested to book in advance for the public tour at fuehrungen@salzburgfestival.at. Special tours on request. Barrier-free access through the foyer of the Grosses Festspielhaus / Hofstallgasse. Further information is available on the official website.
