Müllner Schanze Climbing Area
The climbing center at the Müllner Schanze is an exhilarating attraction. Twelve rock-climbing routes rated 1 to 6+ turn this rockface into an adventure playground.
Nestled between Mönchsberg wall, Müllner Church, and a wild romantic landscape, the approximately 2000 m² climbing course Müllner Schanze features a natural rock climbing wall and a rope course for climbing, hanging, and balancing. It trains body control, strength, and balance. The over 10-meter high natural rock climbing wall offers 12 routes ranging from grade 1 to 6+ with installed bolts.
The rock formations of the routes are inclined differently, requiring various grip and foothold shapes. In addition to the climbing wall, the following options are available: scrambling in the rope climbing garden, bouldering (rope-free climbing at jumping height), slacklining (balancing on straps), and a pyramid-shaped "rope circus" (a 5.35-meter high space net made of 237 meters of rope).
- Equipment must be brought along (rope, climbing shoes, harness, and helmet)!
- Helmet use is mandatory in the entire climbing area
- Climbing without climbing equipment and rope safety is prohibited above a height of 3 meters (please pay attention to markings!)
The climbing course Müllner Schanze can be easily reached by public transport, bicycle, or on foot; car access is not possible.
