Public transport
The comprehensive network of the Salzburg bus transport leaves nothing to be desired. The electric trolleybuses and bus lines take locals and visitors to their destination stress-free and environmentally friendly.
Salzburg has an eco-friendly trolleybus system with electric trolleybuses and bus lines. Take advantage of the well-developed public transport system and support climate protection. The trolleybuses run during the day at 10-, 15-, or 20-minute intervals, and most bus lines operate every 15 minutes. During the summer holidays between July and August, there is a special holiday schedule. With the NachtStern and Bustaxi, you can also travel home comfortably and safely at night. You can find the current timetable at fahrplan.salzburg-verkehr.at.
Single tickets from the Salzburg Transport Association and 24-hour tickets for the core zone of Salzburg are cheaper when purchased in advance at one of the numerous newsstands (kiosks) or from vending machines. Those who appreciate personal assistance when buying tickets will receive detailed advice at the ServiceCenter Verkehr at the local train station (basement), the ServiceCenter Alpenstraße, or at the customer center of the Salzburg Transport Association on Schallmooser Hauptstraße. You can travel affordably with a 24-hour ticket, which is valid as a network ticket throughout the entire city. If you stay in the city for more than four days, it is worth buying a weekly ticket. All advance tickets must be validated on the first trip on the vehicle.
With the SalzburgMobil App for iPhone, Android, and Windows, you will always find the best route. The SalzburgMobil App clearly displays all possible connections from your starting point to your destination. In addition, you can use it to purchase tickets in advance. You can find more information about the app on the website of Salzburg AG.
Alternatively, the Salzburg Transport Association (SVV) offers the Salzburg Verkehr App. More information can be found on the website of the Salzburg Transport Association.
