Salzburg Lokalbahn [local rail service] S1+S11
News
The route between Salzburg Hbf and Bürmoos is closed. In the affected section, a rail replacement service (SEV) with buses has been established. Trains run only between Lamprechtshausen, Bürmoos, and Ostermiething as line S11. Further information can be found here.
The Salzburg Local Railway is the ideal connection between the city of Salzburg and the surrounding area. The S1 runs from the Salzburg Local Station via Bürmoos to Lamprechtshausen, and the S11 is the extension to Ostermiething in the neighboring Upper Austria.
The two lines S1 and S11 have a combined length of 38 km and are a sustainable alternative to individual traffic. This makes visiting the Silent Night community of Oberndorf just as easy as the 30-minute walk from the Bergheim stop to the pilgrimage church of Maria Plain.
- From 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., the local train operates every half hour, with additional express trains running every 15 minutes during peak hours. On weekends and before holidays, the S1 additionally departs from Salzburg at 12:08 a.m., 1:08 a.m., and 2:08 a.m., and from Ostermiething at 12:03 a.m., 1:03 a.m., and 2:03 a.m., and from Lamprechtshausen to Salzburg at 12:17 a.m., 1:17 a.m., and 2:17 a.m.
