Tax Free Shopping
Tax-Free Shopping: All guests who are not EU residents have a right to a refund of the Austrian value added tax which is included in the purchase price of products. Minimum invoice amount: € 75.01.
This is how it works:
You request a completed Tax-Free form from the seller (name and foreign residential address must be filled in) and the envelope with the directory of all refund locations. The original invoice must be attached to the Tax-Free form.
When departing, you show your purchase to customs at the EU external border and get the Tax-Free form stamped with the exit customs stamp. Without the customs stamp, a refund is impossible. You collect your refund at one of over 700 refund locations worldwide (e.g., at airports or in your home country) or you send the Tax-Free form for transfer to your Tax-Free service provider.
