Mozart Week 2026: The old tree

Mozart: lux æterna is the motto of this anniversary Mozart Week, we celebrate the eternal light of Mozart, explains Rolando Villazón, director of the Mozart Week. 2026 is a year with two major Mozart anniversaries: It marks the 270th birthday of Mozart, and it has been 70 years since the world's most significant Mozart festival was founded in 1956.


The Old Tree or: Franz's Journey to the End of the World (for ages 8 and up): a musical puppet adventure in three acts with arrangements based on Mozart.

The Vienna theater musicians / students of the mdw / ensemble of the Salzburg Marionette Theatre, among others.

In German with German & English side titles
