Krampus Run in Siezenheim

Every year on December 7th, the terrifying Siezenheim Krampuses and friendly groups from the region gather in the village square in Siezenheim.

Some groups, including those from Großgmain and Wals, present their intricately carved masks and improvise with loud sounds of wooden clappers and battle chants to drive away the winter spirits. In this atmospheric setting in Siezenheim, visitors can look forward to a magical goosebumps experience in the open air.

The event starts in the evening, usually around 7 PM, at the village square – a community ritual that is deeply rooted in alpine traditions and unites the village community anew each year.
