Café Konditorei Fürst - Alter Markt
The café patisserie Fürst stands for sweet temptations and traditional coffee creations. The greatest highlight is the "Original Salzburg Mozartkugel," which has been produced to this day according to the original recipe of Paul Fürst with the finest ingredients and intricate handcrafting.
Since 1884, the Café-Konditorei Fürst has been located in its main house in Brodgasse with a terrace overlooking the Alten Markt. It is the perfect place to breathe in the Salzburg atmosphere - best enjoyed with a delicious cake or pralines made in-house.
When Paul Fürst wrapped a marzipan core with pistachio and nougat and then dipped it in dark chocolate in 1890, the birth of the "Original Salzburg Mozartkugel" occurred. Shortly after, he would receive the gold medal at the international exhibition in Paris for this - and the triumph of the Mozartkugel was unstoppable. Even today, this praline classic is made by hand following traditional methods, making it hardly comparable to industrial products.
The Original Salzburg Mozartkugel can be purchased in Salzburg at five locations. In addition to the café-confectioneries at Alten Markt and Mirabellplatz, there are confectionery shops in Ritzerbogen, Residenzplatz, and at the end of Getreidegasse, and of course, also at the manufactory in Elsbethen. The treats can also be conveniently ordered from the online shop.
